Kitchen Table Quarterly is seeking previously unpublished poetry, nonfiction, and artwork. We are a journal preoccupied with history—cultural, political, geographical, personal. We are looking for work that spills secrets and wipes the dust off of old memories. Submit up to five poems, five artworks, or a standalone nonfiction piece of up to 3000 words. Some of those other guidelines include poem genre, number of lines in the poem and the dates in which queries are accepted. In other words, not all literary companies accept submissions at all times during the year. SubTropics is a literary journal published by the University of Florida. The best method is to send your story as a Word attachment, via e-mail. Next best is to paste your story into the body of your email message. Don’t pigeonhole yourself into a form that will stifle your creativity, utilize imagery and sound, have a meaning and a purpose for every poem, and revise until your fingers bleed. The real magic of poetry happens in the revising and refining.
